Cayo Santa María is a small island off Cuba’s northern coast. It's known for its beaches and water sports. Playa Las Gaviotas beach, in the northeast, is backed by the lush vegetation of Cayo Santa María Wildlife Refuge, which shelters birds such as the Cuban trogon. The Pueblo La Estrella complex features a handicraft market, restaurants, bars and shops. Dolphins perform at the Acuario Delfinario Cayo Santa María.
Cuba was Founded in the early 15th century by the Spanish, setting up a colonial rule on the island. Cayo Santa María (Saint Mary Cay or "Key") is an island off Cuba's north central coast in the Jardines del Rey archipelago. The island is linked by road and bridge to the town of Caibarién on the main island. Cayo Santa María is well known for its white sand beaches and luxury all-inclusive resorts.
