Detailed Itinerary

Upon arrival in Jabalpur, you will be met by your driver and travel by road to the Kanha Tiger Reserve (approx. 4hrs drive).

Located in the heart of Kipling Country, the setting of the Jungle Book, Kanha is the last refuge of the Swamp Deer (Barasingha) and extends over an area of more than 1,940sq km.

After arriving at the hotel, check-in and enjoy dinner.

Rise early to enjoy a morning jeep safari around the Kanha Tiger Reserve. At Kanha, the wildlife you may spot on a safari includes the tiger, leopard, wild dog, wild cat, fox and the jackal. Kanha Tiger Reserve is most famous for its Swamp Deer population, and has been instrumental in the species survival and protecting it against extinction. Return to the hotel for lunch and a rest and this afternoon embark on another jeep safari to the reserve.

After dinner this evening, the time is at your leisure to relax.

This morning you will continue your journey from Kanha to Bandhavgarh National Park (approx. 6hrs drive). This afternoon proceed on a jeep safari around the park.

Located in Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh was once a hunting reserve for the Royal family of Rewa and was declared a National Park in 1968. Bandhavgarh is known for the highest density of tigers in the world. Other wild attractions include the nilgai, chausingha, chital, chinkara, wild boar and sometimes a fox or jackal.

Enjoy a morning and evening safari again today, another great chance to spot some unique wildlife around the park.

Enjoy an early morning jeep safari and afterwards, return to the hotel for the day at leisure. This evening, you will transfer to Katni Railway Station (approx. 1.5 hrs drive) and board your overnight soft sleeper train to Agra. This evening’s dinner will be a prepackaged dinner box from the hotel.

Indian Trains: Your train is an overnight train day train and your soft sleeper bed will be in an Air-Conditioned Car. There will be local travellers in the same carriages. You may not be able to purchase any food or drinks on the train, so if you need any snacks make sure you pre-purchase them before boarding. We advise you to be aware of your belongings at all times.

Upon arrival into Agra this morning, you will be met by your driver and transfer to Keoladeo National Park (approx. 1.5 hrs). The Keoladeo National Park, also known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary was a former duck-hunting reserve of the Maharajas. Now one of the major wintering areas for large numbers of aquatic birds from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, China and Siberia and more than 364 species of birds, including the rare Siberian crane, have been recorded in the park.

You will visit various parts of the sanctuary by cycle rickshaw, the quietest and most efficient way of getting around the sanctuary.

OPTIONAL-TAJ MAHAL VISIT IN AGRA ON EXTRA CHARGES
Upon arrival into Agra this morning, you will be met by your local and transfer to visit the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. Enjoy walking through the gardens of the complex and admire the Taj from different angles, watching the marble change colour as the sun ascends into the sky.

After touring, continue to the Keoladeo National Park.

Today you will transfer to Bharatpur Railway Station to board your train to Sawai Madhopur near Ranthambore National Park. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for check in and lunch before commencing on a safari in the park around an estimated area of 400sq km of game reserve.

Ranthambore was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and became part of Project Tiger in 1973. The forests around the Ranthambore were once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur. The desire to preserve the game in these forests for sport was ultimately responsible for their conservation and subsequent rescue by ‘Project Tiger’.

Today you will enjoy an early morning and a mid-afternoon safari by canter and visit the 10th Century Ranthambore Fort, considered one of the oldest structures in the state of Rajasthan.

After breakfast drive from Ranthambore National Park to Sawai Madhopur and board your train to Delhi. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel, the remainder of the day is at leisure.
