Detailed Itinerary
Arrival at Berlin airport and collection of the rental car. Travel to the hotel right in the heart of the Spreewald. Rest of the day is free to start discovering this beautiful region of forests and canals, named since 1990 "Biosphere Reserve" by UNESCO. Take a walk through one of the small towns
found in this region: Burg, Lübben or Lübbenau.
Meal: No Meal
Today you will learn more about the Spreewald. You can visit the open-air museum in Lehde (Freilandmuseum Lehde), here you will learn what life was like in the 19th century (not included). Then you can get into some outdoor activities, take a walk in the fresh air or go for a bike ride in the woods (Gurkenradweg trail). One of the best ways to discover the region is by navigating through its beautiful canals, for this you can rent a Kayak and enjoy the path at your own pace or go on a traditional boat trip (Punt boat) and admire the incredible landscape that the forest offers.

After breakfast departure to the town of Schmilka. On the way you can stop in the city of Dresden. Known as the "Florence on the Elbe", Dresden is a captivating German city. The impressive Frauenkirche Church, the Zwinger Palace and the Semper Opera are cultural landmarks. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, it is a captivating destination for lovers of history and architecture. Continuation to Schmilka.

Today you will discover the beautiful town of Schmilka. On the banks of the Elbe River and with the Saxon Switzerland National Park in the background, Schmilka is considered one of the most striking tourist destinations in the region. In this town you can go for walks, climb, have a massage or even visit its famous brewery and discover the techniques that have lasted hundreds of years. You could also take a short ferry ride from Schmilka to the town of Bad Schandau.

In the morning a visit to “El Bastei” and the ruins of Neurathen Castle awaits you. The Bastei is a natural rock formation that rises 194 meters above sea level and has been a tourist attraction for over 200 years. The castle ruins of Neurathen, the largest rock castle in Saxon Switzerland, can be reached by crossing the Bastei Bridge. In the afternoon continue to Hohnstein, the city of the castle on the rock, which owes its name and origin to the castle of Hohen Stein, which is said to have existed before 1241. This is one of the most fantastic landscapes of valleys and rocks in the whole region. Return to Schmilka.

After breakfast, continue to discover this beautiful town a little more and/or prepare for your return trip. If time permits and you did not have the opportunity to see the city of Dresden, you could stop there on the way back to Berlin airport.
