Arrival at Basel airport and train trip to Freiburg (approx. 1h).
Today you have all day to know the city of Freiburg with its cathedral and the „Most beautiful tower of Christianity“. Freiburg, the capital of the Black Forest is a university city with a lot of ambiance. In December its streets shine with a large number of stands of what is to be the largest Christmas market in the South of the Black Forest. Highlights the number of bands playing Christmas carols in the streets creating an authentic Christmas atmosphere.
In the morning travel by train to Strasbourg, capital of the Alsace Region in France. With its extraordinary cathedral, carved like a work of lace, Strasbourg is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Its Christmas market is the oldest in France, which since 1570 is held in the Cathedral Square. Hundreds of merchants offer visitors original gifts and objects to decorate their Christmas tree and nativity scene, as well as different culinary specialties such as typical sweets, mulled wine, cakes and many more. Return by train to Freiburg.
