Breakfast at the hotel. This morning we suggest to start to visit Abha, the capital of Aseer Province and the highest large city in Saudi Arabia. It sits above 2,200 meters on the edge of the Sarawat Mountains. Our first stop is Jebal Akhdar, a green hill in Abha that offers a unique viewpoint over the city. Then we visit local museums to see the richness of Aseer Province’s culture, architecture, and handicraft. Nearby is the old district of Al-Basta where we admire the traditional Aseeri architecture of the elegant stone and mudbrick painted houses. We can head towards Habala, a famous traditional village hanging on a cliff. We can ride by telepheric to this unique place. On the way we show you some of our secret places. Check in at your hotel. Breakfast at the hotel. Today we can visit two of the most iconic places of the highlands of Saudi Arabia, Jebel Sawdah and Rijal Al-Ma’. We can start with a short drive into the Moshebah hills that are covered with Mediterranean-like vegetation and at the nearby Sehab park we will enjoy astonishing views from the 2,000 meter high cliffs of the Sarawat Mountains. Our next stop is Jebel Sawdah which is one of the highest points of Saudi Arabia peaking at nearly 3,000 metres. Although “Jebel “means mountain, Sawdah is rather a hill that stands on the edge of the vertiginous cliffs of the Sarawat range where we can enjoy another dramatic perspective. We drive down the valley to the traditional village of Rijal Al-Ma’ which is the most impressive testimony of Aseeri traditional architecture with its dozens of impressively tall stone made buildings, elegantly ornamented with stones of different colors. We can enjoy a walk in the small shaded streets that connect the traditional houses and visit the local museum that displays the history of this marvellous place. At the end of the afternoon you will drive back for your departure. You can return the car in the airport of ABHA ,go to the car rental RETURN parking , handover your car to the BUDGET team , and direct yourself to the departure area.
