Swayambhunath: Also known as “Monkey Temple”, is located on a small hilltop approximately 4 kms/2.5 miles. This Buddhist Stupa is said to be 2000 years old. The Stupa, which forms the main structure, is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire capped by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four-sided base of the spire are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. This hill is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples.

The city is believed to be the first settlement in the Valley and was established by the Kirat dynasty, who ruled for more than 1200 years from the 3rd century BC. Patan is famous for its amazing collection of fantastically carved temples, palace courtyards, water spouts, public baths and houses with their equally elaborate wood, stone and metal carvings under the patronages of the Kirat, Lichivi and Malla kings.

Meal Plan: Breakfast lunch and Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Pokhara. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel.

Pokhara is the third-largest city in Nepal, located to the west of Kathmandu. Three out of the ten highest mountains in the world, including the renowned Annapurna, are within 30 miles of the city, making it Nepal’s top trekking destination. It is an ideal place to relax, take walks in the surrounding hills, or engage in the more energetic pursuits of trekking or white-water rafting.

The rest of the afternoon/evening is at leisure to explore the lakeside (main tourist hub of Pokhara) on your own.

Overnight at the hotel.

Meal Plan: Breakfast

Early morning Sarangkot sunrise. Sarangkot: It offers the breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna Mountain Range. Situated very close to Pokhara town, it is a semi-developed village located on a hilltop. One has to leave early in the morning while it is still dark to catch the sunrise. Later in the day, the clouds gather around the mountains. It has great views in all directions. Pokhara and Phewa Lake are to the south. The grand Annapurna panorama is to the north, and rolling hills to the east. To the west is a distant view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m). Return to the hotel, visiting the Bindebasini temple en route.

Bindebashini Temple: This is one of the oldest temples in Pokhara. Legend says that when Pokhara was a part of the Kaski Kingdom, the main deity of the temple, Goddess Durga, was brought from India. Apart from the peace and tranquillity that can be felt in this region, the premises of the temple offer a good view of the Himalaya on a clear day. The temple is in the area of the Bazaar; hence, a journey of the old bazaar can be combined with a visit to the temple.

Back to the hotel for Breakfast. Later, enjoy a boat ride on Fewa (or Phewa) Lake, the second largest lake in Nepal, which offers an excellent view of the mountains and their reflections on the lake. Many tours, trekking operators and hotels are located on the lakeside. One can easily find a place to sit back, relax and enjoy a great meal while enjoying the scenery here. You will also enjoy 01 hour of boating on the lake. Most hotels and guest houses have traditional designs and layouts that match the surrounding views.

Then visit Davis Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, the Tibetan Refugee camp and a boat ride on Phewa Lake.

Davis Falls: Witness a unique waterfall that lies 2 Km from central Pokhara City. The water falls directly into a deep and narrow canal with no ends. It is believed that this deadly waterfall took the life of a tourist named David, who fell into the cannel and was never found, and hence the name David waterfall, named in his memory by the people of Pokhara. This place has many nicknames like Davy's fall, David's fall or Davis's fall, all mean the same thing: `The Davis Waterfall'.

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is probably the longest and most attractive cave in South Asia, which is located at the pristine location of the northwestern part of Pokhara, a world-famous tourist destination in the Gandaki zone and Kaski district. Ancestors called this place as desolate Khatri Tara. At that time, steam used to come out from this place, and some courageous youngsters used to go inside and catch fish. In 1970, 1980 and 1982, a British Expedition Organisation named British Cave Research Association explored this cave and published about it in The Atlas of Great Caves of the World. This cave was formally established in 1994-01-01, which is a religious and touristic destination and is called as Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave.

Tibetan Refugee Camp: Following the Chinese invasion of Tibet, there was an influx of over 300,000 exiles/refugees into Nepal on the way to Dharamsala in India. It's estimated that 60,000 settled in Nepal. 2,500 refugees cross the border every year, either to make their way to India or settle in Nepal. There are 12 official containment camps, 8 in Kathmandu and 4 in Pokhara (Tashi Ling, Tashi Palkhiel, Jampaling and Paljorling). There are several smaller settlements in the surrounding hillsides around Pokhara.

Pumdikot: Pumdikot is a scenic hilltop destination near Pokhara, best known for its impressive 108-foot-tall Shiva statue and peaceful spiritual atmosphere. Located about 7–8 km from Lakeside, it offers panoramic views of the Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake, and the Annapurna range, including Machhapuchhre, on clear days. Easily accessible by road, Pumdikot is an ideal spot for a short visit, especially during early morning or sunset, making it a popular choice for sightseeing, photography, and quiet reflection.

Peace Pagoda: The World Peace Pagoda, also known locally as Shanti Stupa, is a stunning white Buddhist monument perched atop Anadu Hill on the southern rim of Pokhara overlooking Phewa Lake and the surrounding Annapurna Himalayan range. Built by monks of the Japanese Nipponzan Myōhōji order with local support and inaugurated in 1999, it symbolises peace, harmony, and spiritual unity, with four Buddha statues facing the cardinal directions representing key events in the Buddha’s life.
