Itinerary

Arrive to Sri Lanka, transfer to Hotel in Colombo, Colombo City tour.

Welcome to Sri Lanka, the pearl of the Indian Ocean! In keeping with Sri Lankan tradition, we would like to extend to you our heartiest “Ayubowan!” (Traditional Sri Lankan greeting wishing long life to the other).

On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport you will be met by your Chauffeur guide & transferred to your hotel in Colombo. Check in at the hotel and relax till evening before explore Colombo city.

Colombo City tour Colombo tour includes a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. If time permits, you may also see the replica of Avukana Buddha & the Independence Square. You will be taken to visit the lotus tower to get mesmerizing views of the city line.

Return back to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

After the breakfast. You will then proceed to Habarana to enjoy an authentic Sri Lankan village experience, including traditional village life, local cuisine, and scenic surroundings.

In the morning you will proceed to Anuradhapura to visit Sacred City of Anuradhapura.

Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant ancient cities in Sri Lanka. During the visit, you will explore revered landmarks such as the Sri Mahabodhi (the sacred Bo tree), Ruwanwelisaya, Jetavanaramaya, and Abhayagiri Monastery, showcasing remarkable ancient architecture, irrigation systems, and deep spiritual heritage. Following this enriching cultural experience, you will return to the hotel, where the rest of the day is at leisure to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities.

Early morning you will be taken to climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

One of Sri Lanka’s major attractions, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress was built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD) for the purpose of protecting him from his rivals. An UNSECO World Heritage listed site, also known as the “Fortress in the Sky”. The climb up to the top of the fortress doesn’t only offer the reward of breathtaking views but there is so much to discover during your climb to the top.

Highlights of the climb include water gardens, artistic frescoes, mirror wall, the lion gate and the magnificent views from the rock summit. Thereafter, you will continue to Polonnaruwa for a guided visit to the ancient archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you will explore well-preserved ruins such as the Royal Palace, Gal Vihara, and ancient temples before returning to the hotel.

Morning visit Dambulla Temple & proceed to Kandy.

Dambulla cave temple is part of the Golden Triangle of Sri Lanka and is encrusted into a magnificently large rock. It sits more than 160m above the surrounding land and spans for more than 1.5 km around the base. Also known as the “Golden Temple” it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991. This ancient complex was initially established in 3rd Century BC and is truly a wonder as it is the largest and best-preserved cave temples in Sri Lanka. The cave temples are home to numerous religious and cultural paintings and sculptures.

In the evening visit temple of tooth relic Kandy. The Temple of Tooth Relic (“Dalada Maligawa” as known to the locals) is located in Kandy. This sacred temple is also home to the palm-leaf transcripts and its history dates back to 1687. This stunning piece of architecture is instantly recognised by its octagonal shape and golden roof. Although you are not able to view the actual tooth itself, the casket within which it is held is displayed twice a day.

Today after early breakfast you will get on board to the local train (01st class tickets or 02nd tickets) which is how the British used to travel during the colonial times in the late 1800’s. You will have reserved seats for you and witness the beautiful ride along forests, villages, Waterfalls and tea estates.

Train journey from Kandy station to Nanu Oya station Train leaves Kandy by 08:45 am and reach Nanu Oya by 12:45 pm. Approx.04 hours’ journey.

• It is important to note that there have been delays in the train timings quite often.
• Please note the purchase of train tickets cannot be guaranteed currently due to the process in place within the Sri Lanka Railways Department especially during peak periods. Tickets for travel are issued 30 days in advance of travel, are limited and extremely difficult to obtain. In the unlikely event a ticket/s cannot be obtained we will of course make the necessary refunds & the clients will travel by road. This is a destination issue and it is best expectations are managed accordingly.

Your chauffer guide will take you to the hotel in Nuwara Eliya from Nanu Oya railway station, check in to the hotel and relax enjoying the hotel facilities.

After breakfast, you will proceed to Yala, stopping en route at Ravana Falls.

Ravana Falls is one of Sri Lanka’s most spectacular waterfalls, located near Ella in the central highlands. Cascading from a height of approximately 25 meters, it is surrounded by lush greenery and dramatic rock formations, making it a perfect spot for photography and a refreshing stop during your journey. Legend has it that the falls are linked to the ancient epic Ramayana, adding a touch of cultural significance to its natural beauty.

Continue your journey to Yala, check in to the hotel, and spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the hotel’s facilities.

Morning Jeep Safari in Yala National Park and transfer to Galle via south cost.

Yala National Park, the largest national park in Sri Lanka, is renowned for its rich wildlife and diverse landscapes, ranging from dense jungle to open parklands. It is one of the best places in the country to spot the elusive leopard, as well as elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, buffaloes, and a wide variety of bird species. The park’s abundant water sources, including streams, lagoons, and waterholes, make it a thriving habitat for wildlife, offering an unforgettable safari experience.

After the safari, you will be transferred to Galle via the scenic south coast, offering beautiful coastal views along the way.

Morning Galle city tour and transfer to Negombo.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning city tour of Galle, exploring the historic Galle Fort, colonial architecture, and charming streets filled with shops and cafes.

Galle is a historic coastal city in southern Sri Lanka, famed for the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Galle Fort, built by the Portuguese and expanded by the Dutch. The city is known for its charming colonial architecture, cobblestone streets, boutique shops, and vibrant cafés. Surrounded by scenic beaches and the Indian Ocean, Galle offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and coastal beauty.

After the city tour, you will be transferred to Negombo for your overnight stay.

Having reached at the end of your program, you will be transferred to the Bandaranaike International Airport from where you will continue onwards to your next destination.
