Meal Plan: Breakfast

08:00 Overland journey to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku (1.580 BC-1.050 AD), the magnificent ruins of Bolivia and one of the oldest civilisations in the Americas. The Sun Gate, the Temple of Kalasasaya and the Pyramid of Akapana are the sample of a glorious past. Tiwanaku culture was an agrarian-based economy with an estimated population of 115.000 inhabitants. The state-controlled agriculture produced the surplus wealth to support the urban centre and administrative system. They were outstanding in agriculture, hydraulic, architecture & medicine, as well as in social organisation. Due to an economic crisis caused by a long dry season, Tiwanaku collapsed around the year 1.050 AD. Box Lunch is included. Continue by land to Huatajata, located at the shores of Lake Titicaca. Upon arrival, Hydrofoil Cruise to Kalauta Island. Visit the ruins of an ancient stone Village and one of the largest necropolises in the area, with its mysterious Chullpa, mortuary towers, some of them with 2 and 3 floors. Enjoy a navigation on Lake Titicaca, swinging among totora-reed canals to reach the Urus- Iruitos Floating Islands, a remnant of an over 5.000 years old culture and a social project created to assure their survival. Enjoy a breathtaking view of the Royal Range of the Andes. Return to Huatajata. Audiovisual and night experience of "The Mystic World of the Kallawayas", natural healers of Bolivia. They believe that you first have to heal the soul in order to heal your body. Tata Benjo, our Kallawaya, will bless visitors and answer questions by casting his sacred coca leaves.

Visit the Sun Virgins Temple “Iñak Uyu”, an important sacred place on Lake Titicaca, where the insistent beating of the waves whispers memories of the past. For the Inca State, women were fundamental, achieving a textile, agricultural, cultural and religious development. Thanks to the dedication of these young maidens, today we can count on dehydrated derivatives of different types of potatoes, such as “chuño” and “tunta”. The temple is characterised by its forward vaulting technique and its trapezoidal and stepped elements. Continue to the mythical Sun Island. Visit the Inca “Grand Stairs” and the Sacred Fountain; taste the water believed to give eternal youth and happiness. Lunch at the Uma Kollu archaeological Restaurant; enjoy the small handicraft market. Hydrofoil Cruise to the picturesque village and harbour of Copacabana, visit to the shrine and the Dark Indian Virgin, as well as the local market.
