Itinerary

Arrival in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, a city known for its stunning archipelago and rich cultural heritage. Accommodation is provided at a centrally located hotel. The day may begin with a visit to Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s medieval Old Town, followed by dinner at a local restaurant offering traditional Swedish cuisine.

A full day is available for independent exploration of Stockholm. A visit to the Vasa Museum, home to a preserved 17th-century warship, is highly recommended. Alternatively, a walk along the waterfront or a visit to one of the city’s many parks offers a relaxing way to enjoy the capital.

Morning departure by train to Mora, a picturesque town located by Lake Siljan. Known for its artistic and cultural heritage, Mora offers a peaceful atmosphere in contrast to the capital. Accommodation is arranged in a centrally located hotel. The afternoon may be spent enjoying lakeside views and the charm of the town.

The first leg of the scenic Inlandsbana railway begins today. This historic line offers a unique view of Sweden’s interior, passing through forests, lakes, and small villages en route to Östersund. Accommodation for two nights is provided in a centrally located hotel.

Time is available to explore Östersund at leisure. Suggested activities include a visit to the Frösö Tower for panoramic views or a relaxing afternoon at the Storsjöbadet spa. An evening walk along Lake Storsjön may reveal glimpses of the mythical Storsjöodjuret, Sweden’s legendary lake creature.

The journey continues northward on the Inlandsbana to Vilhelmina, travelling through vast forests and open landscapes. The remote beauty of the region becomes increasingly apparent. Accommodation is provided in a centrally located hotel.

Further travel on the Inlandsbana leads to Arvidsjaur. Along the way, passengers are treated to views of pristine wilderness. In Arvidsjaur, a visit to Lappstaden, a historic Sami church town, is recommended for insight into local culture. Overnight accommodation is in a centrally located hotel.

The final stretch of the Inlandsbana journey leads to Gällivare in Swedish Lapland. A brief stop is made just south of Jokkmokk to mark the crossing of the Arctic Circle. Between 5 June and 6 July, the Midnight Sun can be experienced north of the Arctic Circle. Throughout the summer, light evenings offer extended opportunities for exploration. Accommodation is provided in a centrally located hotel.

The tour concludes with a train journey across the Swedish-Norwegian border to Narvik, a town surrounded by dramatic fjords and mountains. Optional activities include a cable car ride to Narvikfjellet for panoramic views and accessible walking trails, or a leisurely stroll along the harbour. The final night is spent in a centrally located hotel in Narvik.
