Itinerary

 Arrival at Cancún International Airport, transfer to your hotel in Cancún. Overnight stay in Cancún.

After breakfast, transfer to the archaeological site of Tulum for a guided tour.

Tulum which means “battlement” in Mayan, was one of the last Mayan cities to be built, in one of the most  strategic areas and was an important maritime port of trade for the civilization. In fact, it is the only Mayan site  located on the seashore. The site is known for its wall and “El Castillo”, the tallest building on the site. It is thought  that the city was populated at the early 564 AD.

Afterwards, we will transfer to Playa del Carmen. This town is the heart of one of Mexico’s most important tourist  areas, the Riviera Maya. In addition to its magnificent beaches, Playa del Carmen’s main attraction is its lively  nightlife, you can explore this beautiful town walking around, discovering from beautiful beaches, local shops, art  galleries, museums and renowned restaurants that make this cosmopolitan city an unforgettable place.

Today you will visit the most important capital of the Mayan World: Chichén Itzá. It is the most famous and visited Mayan site in the world. Chichén Itzá is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. It was the political, religious, and cultural center of the Mayan Empire, as well as the capital of the region. You will visit the Pyramid of Kukulcán, the impressive “Feathered Serpent”, the largest ball court in Mesoamerica, and the Observatory, where the Mayans performed precise astronomical calculations.

After the guided tour, transfer to the Magical Town of Valladolid, where you will enjoy a walking panoramic tour. Valladolid is one of the oldest cities of the Yucatán Peninsula. You will discover the Church of San Servacio, the main plaza and park Francisco Cantón Rosado, the Parroquia de San Bernardino de Siena, and more.

Today after the breakfast, you will discover the magnificent landscapes of the Yucatán east coast: Río Lagartos and Las Coloradas.

Las Coloradas are world-renowned pink lagoons. Their color is due to the presence of microorganisms that thrive in salt-saturated environments, producing this recognizable pink pigment. It is a protected, non-swimming area where sea salt crystallized, allowing you to admire the mirror-like effect of the sun’s reflection. In Río Lagartos, a small fishing port, you will enjoy a boat ride through the reserve to admire the biodiversity of the ecosystem.

Finally, transfer to Mérida.

Today after the breakfast, you will discover the most impressive archeological site on the Puuc Route: Uxmal. You will enjoy a guided tour. The facades of some of its buildings are decorated with masks of Chac, the Rain God. You will visit the Pyramid of the Magician, one of the most impressive in the area, the site reached its peak between 600 and 900 AD.

After the visit, we will head to the Uxmal Choco-Story Museum. This interactive museum will allow you to learn about the history of cacao in this region. You will learn about the origin of cacao, discovering the history of the crop, its worldwide distribution, and its diverse uses throughout history. After the visit you will return to Mérida.

At the appropriate time, you will check out from the hotel and have your final transfer to Cancún International Airport.
