Galway, the gateway to the west coast, is hard to resist with its bohemian charm and friendly locals ready to give you a true Irish welcome. Why not visit one of the shops selling the traditional Claddagh Rings to take home, or stop for a Guinness in one of the local pubs where you will most certainly be greeted with lively traditional music as you enter. Overnight in Galway.

Leave the city behind as you explore one of Ireland’s most beautiful National Parks, Connemara. Here you will find mountains, woodlands, beaches, and even traces of historic settlements such as megalithic tombs dating back over 4,000 years! Whilst here, you will visit Kylemore Abbey, built in the 1800s and nestled in the heart of Connemara. During your visit, you will learn about the history of the Abbey and why it remains home to the Benedictine Nuns, as well as discovering Ireland’s largest walled garden. Before returning to the city, you’ll visit Killary Sheep Farm, a traditional working mountain farm where you will enjoy a live sheepdog demonstration and learn about the importance of sheepdogs in Irish farming. Enroute, travel through The Burren a completely contrasting landscape to the rest of Ireland, with its vast limestone plains dotted with caves, fossils, and rock formations. It feels almost otherworldly! Then, it’s time to go from land to sea, as you enjoy a spectacular boat tour offering the best vantage point of the Cliffs, which rise to over 200 metres (700 feet) at their highest point. Keep a lookout you may even spot puffins in the right season!.

Killarney is a lively town and the gateway to Killarney National Park, where you’ll find every type of terrain Ireland has to offer in one place. The Ring of Kerry, a 179 km scenic loop, is home to Ireland’s tallest mountains, cascading waterfalls, lakes, ancient forests, and rolling hills. In the heart of the park lies Muckross House & Gardens, a 19th-century mansion where Queen Victoria stayed as a guest during her visit in 1861. The setting, overlooking Muckross Lake, is truly magical. Experience a traditional Jaunting Car ride, a charming way to explore the estate grounds and nearby Muckross Abbey, before finishing your day. Overnight in Killarney.
