Detailed Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Bogotá, Colombia, you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to Hotel de la Ópera in the colonial district of La Candelaria. You can take the evening to relax or explore the vibrant neighborhood.
Please note that we can recommend and reserve the best restaurants and entertainment options in the city for you. As an option, you can have dinner (not included) at Andrés Carne de Res in Chía. This restaurant is famous
for its delicious food, cocktails, and dance/entertainment. It can be a great start to your trip! Your accommodation for the night will be at Hotel de la Ópera, located in La Candelaria, Bogotá.

Ride through lagoons and palm groves on a traditional Finca Llanera (farm) and observe exotic birds and wildlife. You can travel on or on foot if horses are not your thing. Then set off to through two nature reserves in the savannah. You will see hundreds of capybaras, dozens of white-tailed deer, spectacled caimans, turtles, and spectacular birdlife. This is an unforgettable South American nature trip. From June to September, it is also possible to take the boat down the Rio Pauto. You will pass lush forests teeming with howler monkeys, iguanas, and parrots, before arriving at a hidden farm where we learn about the where we learn about the local culture. Location and Scenery: Your safari will take you to San Luis de Palenque, a community about 100km northeast of Yopal. Just two hours away from Yopal, you can explore and marvel at and marvel at the biodiversity of the reserve, which covers more than 1285 hectares of savannah and wetlands. The reserve is more than 9000 acres where you can experience iconic ecosystems and immerse yourself in Llanero cultural traditions. You will experience
adventures that will awaken all your senses.

Transfer to the airport in time for your 1 hour flight to Yopal.

You will be picked up and transferred to your hotel where you can
have lunch.
Short transfer to Finca La Independencia, a typical farm where you can learn how to lasso horses. You will then be escorted on horseback (or on foot if you prefer) to explore the beautiful countryside and wildlife. After sunset, enjoy the farm’s garden – you will return to your hotel for dinner.

The Encanto de Guanapalo Natural Reserve is made up of 3 traditional cattle farms, where more than 245 species of endemic or migratory birds, 15 registered species of mammals, 25 registered species of amphibians, 45 registered species of reptiles, and fish are found.

Activities:
• Breakfast at the hotel.
• You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the reserve (an enjoyable 2-hour drive).
• At 8:00 am you will arrive at the three cattle ranches that make up the Encanto de Guanapalo Natural Reserve. There you will be met by your local host who will tell you about the history of the Matadepalma, Altamira, and Montana farms. You will then be taken on an ecological hike to observe the
iconic landscapes and beautiful wildlife of the eastern plains.
• Time for a delicious Casanare lunch and rest in the hammocks.
• At 3 pm you will set off on horseback (alternatively by jeep if you prefer) on a traditional "llanero safari".
You will explore various vast savannahs, creeks, and gallery forests, all characteristic of this region.
• You will also have the opportunity to observe endemic species such as birds, mammals, reptiles, turtles, alligators, deer, capybaras, anteaters, cats, foxes, and many more.
• At the end of the tour, you will visit several iconic natural treasures such as the Galapagos Heron. Nesting Ground, the Carreteros Creek, and the Zambranera Lake.
• Your day will end with a majestic sunset at Casanare.
• At night you will enjoy a delicious dinner while listening to various stories and myths.

The Encanto de Guanapalo Natural Reserve is made up of 3 traditional cattle farms, where more than 245 species of endemic and migratory birds, 15 registered species of mammals, 25 registered species of amphibians, 45 registered species of reptiles and fish are found.

Activities:
• Enjoy a beautiful sunrise over breakfast and then take part in traditional fieldwork.
• Today is dedicated to the tradition and culture of the llanero "cowboy", so it starts very early at 5.30 am.• You will learn how to groom the horses and then go out to learn about cattle work.
• During the day you will be shown various cattle work activities such as rodeo, horse sitting, and lassoing!
• Then you will lead a rodeo (cattle roundup), listening to traditional cattle songs and poems riding through songs and poems, and riding through areas that are now UNESCO World Heritage cultural Heritage sites. Later you will organise the cattle and learn how to tie them.
• After a hard day's work, enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a quick nap in the hammock.
• In the afternoon, at 2 pm, you will be back on horseback to train the wild horses. In the stable, you will learn how to control these beautiful animals and how to train and seat them.
• You will end the trip with a delicious dinner around a campfire, where you can share stories.

You will start the day with an unforgettable sunrise, where you can see hundreds of birds enjoying the peace of the flatlands. After a delicious breakfast, you can choose between a horseback ride, a hike, a bike ride, or navigating Curiara Creek, a great opportunity to take photographs. After lunch, you will be collected and brought to Yopal the airport in time for your flight.
