The capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana is a beautiful city with a unique charm to it. The best way to explore this small city is on foot, meandering through the cobbled streets, looking at the myriad dragon statues that are all over the town and admiring the gorgeous architecture from the Baroque era. The Old Town is where all the history and architecture thrives so a visit to this place is a must. The important attractions include; the Ljubljana Castle, Tromostovje or the Triple Bridge and the Tivoli Park. There are many fabulous art and architecture museums that dot the city as well. If you are an art enthusiast you will devour these places.
Bled is a beautiful, fairy tale town in Slovenia. The most magnificent part of this town is the huge water body nestled amongst lofty mountains and green forests, the Bled lake. It is a gateway to the Triglav National park. The most appealing part of the lake is a 17th century church located in a small island in the center of the lake and also the Bled Castle. It gives a spectacular view of the lake below. There are many interesting things for adventure enthusiasts to do including canoeing, cycling and hiking and also tobogganing.
If you want to get some adventure going and be one with nature, the best place to be is Triglav National Park. The park is surrounded by the Julian Alps with the towering peak of Mount Triglav as one of the highest points. Many visitors like to hike it to Mount Triglav to get stunning views of the entire park.
A UNESCO world heritage site, the underground treasure is a spectacular site. The caves have magnificent stalagmites and stalactites and also about 15 species of bats. These caves are the highest hall of caves in the whole of Europe. The caves are in a humongous canyon that is placed underground and you can go from one side to the other through a bridge. It is an intriguing underground system that you must relish over an entire day.
On the Southwestern tip of Slovenia, Piran is the most beautiful coastal town in the country. This quaint, historic town would remind visitors of Italy with its whitewashed houses and red brick roofs and there is enough reason for it. This little town was a part of the Venetian Empire for over 5 centuries. History enthusiasts would love this place as they dig into the iconic landmarks including; the Venetian House and Church of St. George. It is also a lovely place to simply relish the sun, the sand and the Adriatic blue so indulge yourself in a little bit of luxury!
