Detailed Itinerary

Arrival to your own itinerary in Reykjavik, the most northern capital city in the world. Spend two nights in the “Smoky Bay” with its vibrant colours, amazing local shops, cafes and the beautiful nature close by it’s an amazing starting point of a tour.

Breakfast at the hotel. After two hours you will reach Snaefellsnes. Did you know that this beautiful region in Western Iceland is actually the best place to spot Orcas? It is mostly known for its dramatic landscapes, waterfalls, beautiful wildlife as well as charming villages.

Next stop are the Westfjords, which are considered as Iceland’s best kept secret, as it is a less touristy area which gives you the feeling to have this beautiful landscape, waterfalls, hot springs and wildlife all to yourself. Enjoy the Dynjandi, the biggest waterfall in the Westfjords, the Raudasandur Beach as well as the Arctic Fox Centre in Sudavik.

Breakfast at the hotel. After that the next stop is about a six-hour drive along the beautiful Westfjord coastline. Spend one night in the small village of Varmahlid and make sure to visit the Reykjafoss waterfall, the Beer Spa in Bjorbodin, as well as the Glaumbaer turf houses, where you can learn about Iceland’s history.

It offers the world’s northernmost botanical gardens, a beautiful church and much more. Also Húsavík, the “Whalewatching capital of Iceland” which also has a Geothermal Sea Bath is just an hour away. On the way you can also pass the famous Goðafoss Waterfall.

Breakfast at the hotel. Coming up is the beautiful town of Myvatn. It is surrounded by nature wonders just like the famous Dettifoss, the geothermal area Hverir, breathtaking Lava and Ice caves and volcano craters.

Its surroundings are beautiful as you have the Vök Baths close by, as well as the little town of Seyðisfjörður with the amazing Gufufoss waterfall just outside the city. The breathtaking Studlagil Canyon is also just an hour away as well as the Fljótsdalur with the waterfalls Hengifoss, Faxi and Kirkjufoss on the way.

Breakfast at the hotel. The next stop will be the small fishing town Höfn which has so much to offer. You will have the Vestrahorn mountain with the black sand beach Stokkness, the Diamond Beach, the famous Jökulsárlón Iceberg Lagoon, the Múlagljúfur Canyon and beautiful waterfalls close by.

Breakfast at the hotel. In less than two hours you will reach the scenic landscape of Skaftafell. The amazing Vatnajökull National Park with the Svartifoss and Hundafoss waterfall as well as the glaciers Skaftafell and Svínafellsjökull make it an ideal destination for those who like to enjoy outdoor activities in Icelandic nature. Also make sure to visit the stunning Fjaðrárgljúfur and Foss a Sidu on the way to the next destination.

It has the beautiful black beach Reynisfjara, which is the most famous black sand beach in Iceland as well as the so called “Doorhill Island” Dyrholaey and the Loftsalahellir Cave on the other side of the coast. Also don’t forget to have a taste of the charming cafes and restaurants around.

The beautiful hotel Ranga is located close to the breathtaking waterfalls Seljalandsfoss, Gljufrabui, Skógafoss, Kvernufoss and Steinbogafoss. Your nature lovers heart also won’t be complete without the Pórsmörk with the beautiful Fimmvorduhals Trailhead and the Sólheimajökull Glacier.
