Detailed Itinerary

Today you arrive in Penang, a melting pot of cultures and top-notch food scene. Transfer to your chosen hotel, your home for three nights. The remainder of your day is at leisure.

Meal: No Meals

Following breakfast, a local guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of the city. Hear stories of the city’s past and present as you drive past its famous landmarks including Fort Cornwallis, Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower, Clan Jetty and Street of Harmony where mosque, kovil, temple and church sit along the same short stretch of road. Next, visit Wat Chayamangkalaram Siamese temple and Dhammikarama Burmese temple to take in their striking architectural style. The remainder of the day is yours to independently explore further or relax at the hotel.

Meal: Breakfast

Set off for a wonderful day of sightseeing and explore Kek Lok Si temple - the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia and arguably one of the most iconic landmarks in Penang. The centerpiece of the temple is the 7-tiered Pagoda of 10,000 Buddhas and adjacent to this imposing edifice is a bronze Statue of Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy), believed to be the tallest in the world. Hop on the funicular train and ride up to the top of Penang Hill, rising spectacularly 830 metres above sea level. It was once a cool hill retreat during the colonial days. Ticket for funicular train is included.

Your tour comes to a close, leaving you with many pleasant memories of a wonderful holiday. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

- A transfer surcharge will be applicable for transfers between 2300 hours - 0700 hours (this will be advised at the time of booking and/or inquiry).
- Hotel standard check-in time is at 14:00 hrs/15:00 hrs and check-out time is at 12:00 hrs. Request early check-in or late check-out will be subject to room availability and charges. Our proposal does not include early check-in or late check-out.
-In Penang a local government fee of AUD 13.00 and AUD 22.00/room/night will be collected respectively in local currency upon check-in at the hotel.
- All holidays are subject to availability and certain closed-out dates will be advised (if applicable).
- With the current and exceptional increase in fuel charges, please note the transportation costs including the cost of fuel chargeable for tours and transfers services may change again between the date of receipt of quotation and the date of travel. Since all these costs are beyond our control, thus prices are subject to further fuel and related surcharges. Asia Experience reserves the right to change prices in event the fuel prices change.

TOURIST TAX
Tourist taxes are becoming more and more common in a number of holiday destinations today. It is a small fee that is usually collected by the hotels upon check-in or check-out. The cost of tourist tax can vary by destination. Currently, the Malaysian Government has reinstated the Tourism Tax (TTX) of AUD 44.00/room/night for all foreign passport holders
for hotel stays effective from 1st January 2023. Please note that tax is inflationary, therefore charges are subject to change anytime.
