Arrive Kota Kinabalu Airport, meet & greet, transfer to check-in hotel.
1400hrs, meet at hotel lobby and proceed for Kota Kinabalu City Discovery (approx. 4 hours)
Highlights:-
Malaysia’s “Land Below The Wind”, Sabah, is a vast state yet its capital, Kota Kinabalu is relatively small. This tour brings you to the defining places clustered in the city including the Atkinson Clock, which is the oldest structure in entire Sabah (since 1903), survived World War II and still serves to keep time today. Signal Hill is the city’s highest point and observation view on its deck goes as far as the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park islands while the City Mosque is spanking new and sits surrounded by a man-made lagoon. You’ll visit the Sabah Museum where plenty artifacts lie, the Sabah Foundation building and the local handicraft market to pick up handmade souvenirs (pearls are abundant there).

Check-out hotel and transfer overland to Kinabalu National Park, trailing along the Crocker Range where the beautiful scenery is breathtaking (approx. 2 hours drive).
The road leading to the Kinabalu Park is dotted with rustic villages and carefree people selling fresh farm produce, handmade products or home cooked delicacies. Our first stop will give you an opportunity to mingle with the Dusun natives at Kg. Himbaan Kundasang and experience a different way of life and perspective. Before working your leg muscles on the Silau-Silau trail (approximately 1.5 hours) at the famed Kinabalu National Park, satisfy your stomach with a local lunch. The nature walk may be linked with other trails like Bukit Burung, Bukit Tupai or Kiau. It also takes you to the Mountain Gardens where flowers bloom healthily, some that may be rare to your sight.
Attire: Due to the slightly cooler climate up in the highlands, warm clothing is recommended.

Check-out hotel and continue journey to the Poring Hot Spring, which is situated in the lowland rainforest. This place is known for its hot springs and popular recreation area which has a tourist complex. We will trek 1km uphill to the Canopy Walkway to experience the thrill of hiking to the treetops, at an elevation of approximately 42m from the ground. At the center, you can take a dip in the hot spring to heal your body and soul with sulfur-rich natural hot water. The water is believed to have therapeutic properties for the skin.
Shortly after lunch, we will continue overland to Sandakan (approx 5 hours drive), check in to My Nature Resort around 1600hrs. Free at owe leisure to explore the facilities by the pool side.
Dinner will be served at the resort. Guided night board walk is available (as an optional tour) if you are not too tired to explore and experience jungle at night – subject to weather condition.

Check – out from hotel and proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. At this Centre, observe man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Witness the feeding of Orang Utan at 1000hrs at the feeding platform and proceed to the Orang Utan Nursery. Later, continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, the Centre that managed to improve the living condition of the rescued sun bear and released their natural behaviors in the 2.5ha enclosed forest. Depart Centre at 1115hrs and transfer to proceed to jetty in Sandakan for scheduled boat departure at 1200hrs.
Take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. After lunch, late in the afternoon, you will be expecting a cruise to search for wildlife until the sunsets while enjoying a cup of coffee and by night falls continue the night cruise to witness the fireflies as Christmas tree. Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, again experience the “Jungle at night” at our nature boardwalk to search birds, snakes, insects and other wildlife with the nature guide.
Overnight at Abai Jungle Lodge
Wake up by the calls of nature. Early morning take a river trip to Pitas lake to observe wildlife and experience the unique of Pitas lake. After breakfast, you are invited to join our tree planting project with the locals and enjoy a simple lunch arranged by the villagers at Abai Village. After lunch, cruise up river to Sukau village in search of primates especially the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Arrive Sukau, check in at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. Late afternoon, take another river cruise with to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. Return lodge for dinner and overnight.
Overnight at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge
Early morning, transfer overland to Lahad Datu. Drive 83km through selectively logged forest, cocoa and softwood plantations before arriving at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge beside Danum River on the edge of 438 sq. km of undisturbed lowland rainforest. The Lodge is home to the full range of Sabah's lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Elephants, Clouded Leopards, and Orang Utans. So far some 275 species of birds have been recorded in the area. Explore nature trail and nearby river. In the evening a slide show and if weather permits one can go spotlighting to view some of the nocturnal animals.
Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge
Take an early morning jungle trek to the Kadazan-Dusun burial site, Coffin Cliff. Then proceed with trekking to the “View Point” for a bird’s eye view of this bewildering site. Make your way to the “Jacuzzi Pool” for a refreshing dip before heading back for lunch.
Later, walk through trails which lead to canopy walkway while enjoying the beauty that this forest beholds. Return to lodge for dinner and rest of the day is at leisure.
Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge
Free at own leisure until departure pick-up, where you will be transferred to Lahad Datu Airport for your departure flight.
