On the other side of the river is the Ehrenbreitstein fortress, the second largest fortress in Europe. Ludwig van Beethoven's mother was born in Koblenz. You can visit his home now converted into a museum dedicated to the life of Beethoven (open on

He is considered the irascible titan of the era of classicism: Ludwig van Beethoven (1770- 1827). Bonn's most illustrious son not only wrote the Fifth Symphony, but also composed the melody "To joy", the anthem of Europe since 1972. In his hometown Bonn, Beethoven is present in every corner. Learn today during a guided tour the most important places related to his life, including the Beethoven monument, in the Münsterplatz square and the sculpture called "Beethon", as well as the Beethoven House, the composer's birthplace. In honor of the 250 years of his birth, the Beethoven House was completely remodeled and now houses a permanent collection with more than 200 original objects by the great composer. It also offers endless concerts throughout the year. Depending on your travel date, it is recommended today to attend a special concert by the Beethoven orchestra or the Beethoven Festival (see information below).

Visit of the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn (House of Art) that presents a special exhibition on the importance of Beethoven and its international impact (17.12.2019 - 26.04.2020). In the afternoon departure to Cologne.
