You will drive to two surviving European Forts in Accra:

The Ussher Fort (Fort Crevecoeur, built by the Dutch and the James Fort, built by the English.
For a great view of the city, climb to the top of the old lighthouse near James Fort.
Continue to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum (the final resting place of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Ghana’s first President).
Also visit the Arts Centre for National Culture, where one can shop for African arts & crafts and traditional clothes.

Meet your English Speaking Driver / Guide and depart for your walking tour through the suburb of Nima to view the other side of Accra.

Here you will meet some local families and witness their way of life.

You will start off with the village of Ntonso, a village famous for adinkra design. Learn the process of Adinkra printing from Master. Also visit the village of Adanwomase to learn traditional skills like kente weaving, palmwine tapping, farming, etc. also to interact with locals to learn the art and history of the various crafts. End the day at the Abonu village, where the Lake Bosomtwi is sited. This crater lake is believed to have been created by a falling meteorite.

This is the largest open air market in West Africa.

Also visit the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Ashanti Kingdom and its museum.

End the day at the Kumasi Cultural Centre, which offers a good account of the rich Ghanaian culture, provides evidence of the Ashanti Kingdom's eminent past. It houses the Prempeh II Jubilee museum, which provides a fascinating collection of Asante’s history
