Cultural references are omnipresent. Many monuments are to be discovered, such as the stature of the »victory of Belgrade«, the symbol of the city located in the park of Kalemegdan siting on the top of Mount Avala. Walk the city and discover the Terazije square, the central square, the Parliament, the Republic square with the National Theater and National Museum. Visit the St. Sava Church, overlooking the city with its sparkling dome, today the largest Orthodox church in the world. See the residence of Princess Ljubica, House of Flowers, where former Yugoslavian president Tito is buried. The warmth of the people of Belgrade makes the city even more attractive. Enjoy evening on your own by having dinner in one of the local restaurants in the bohemian quarter of Skadarlija. Overnight in Belgrade.

After breakfast, we will take a trip to the second largest city in Serbia, Novi Sad. Continue to Novi Sad, a remarkable settlement on the Danube river and an important stopover between the Balkans and Central Europe. Visit the Catholic Cathedral built in a typical neo-gothic style, the Orthodox cathedral and other Serbian cultural institutions. It is the perfect fairy-tale castle, wonderfully set off by its location in the rugged landscape at the head of Đepard Gorge. After the tour of the fortress, we will continue to the Iron Gate the widest flow Danube river has and gives the impression of the sea. Passing the Iron Gate, we will reach our next stop Lepenski Vir where we will see more than 100 items illustrating the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods. Return to Belgrade. Overnight in hotel

Continue to Manasija. Visit of the Manasija Monastery, founded by despot Stefan Lazarevic in the first half of the 15th century, where the most beautiful frescoes are found. The monumental rampart with 11 towers, encircled by a moat, represented at the time a modern defence system of the monastery. Drive to Niš for overnight in hotel.

After breakfast we leave to Studenica. Founded at the end of the 12th century by Stevan Nemanja, creator of the medieval Serbian state, the Studenica monastery is the largest and the richest of the Orthodox monasteries in Serbia. Its two main monuments, the Church of the King, built in white marble, make it a veritable conservatory of Byzantine painting of the 13th and 14th centuries. Departure to Zlatibor.
