Aftwer breakfast ,Explore Lima´s old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site packed with fascinating historic buildings. Start with a scenic tour in the colonial downtown, which radiates from the Main Square, where you can appreciate the grandiose architecture of the Spanish Empire. Be amazed by Lima´s Cathedral, built during the 16th century and took over 80 years to complete. Then visit the Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by chief conquistador Francisco Pizarro to Jerónimo de Aliaga, one of his captains. This is the only house from that time that still belongs to the same family after all these centuries. Continue to the Larco Museum, located in the traditional Pueblo Libre district, which is housed in a beautifully restored viceregal mansion built on a pre-Columbian pyramid from the VII century. The museum boasts the most complete pre-Hispanic collection of gold and silver objects, as well as pieces of erotic art. Finally, head to the "Love Park" in the scenic coastal district of Miraflores, where you can admire the cliffs and a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Return to your hotel. After breakfast During the morning, you are picked up from your hotel to visit the town of Chinchero, a traditional Cusco urban centre located at an elevated point with a beautiful view of the valley. The inhabitants of this area preserve the artisan traditions and the inherited knowledge of the Incas and display them in their clothes and customs. In Chinchero there are also archaeological remains and a beautiful seventeenth-century church, one of the first Catholic buildings in Peru. Then, you are transferred to the Living Museum of Yucay, a centre Andean traditions interpretations, where demonstrations of the elaboration of textile work, adobe, pottery and silverware are carried out in the same way in which they used to in antiquity; an original recreation of Inca traditions. Also, residents of the museum include llamas, sheep and alpacas, and they can be fed! Upon arriving in Ollantaytambo visit its town, inhabited uninterruptedly since Inca times, and climb the iconic fortress, built next to a mountain. Later, have lunch in Ollantaytambo and live a superior Andean gastronomy experience in a restaurant, where the true spirit of the Sacred Valley is transmitted in a cosy atmosphere.! After breakfast Start the day with breakfast at the hotel and a transfer to Ollanta train station- only with driver. Your tour to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride to Aguas Calientes. This town is also known as "Machu Picchu pueblo" and is the last stop before entering the most important archaeological site in Peru. In Aguas Calientes there is a train station, a craft market, restaurants and hotels of different categories for those who prefer to spend the night at the foot of the mountain and climb it early. Finally, after a short transfer by bus you will reach Machu Picchu, a masterpiece of engineering and architecture that served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca Pachacutec. Machu Picchu, which means "Old Mountain", is considered a World Heritage by UNESCO and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at Café Inkaterra. In the afternoon you will head to the train station of Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo and start the return to Cusco from there- only with driver.Lunch included.Overnight stay at selected hotel in Cusco.
After breakfast you will start your tour visiting the Coricancha, also known as "The Temple of the Sun" (QuriKancha 'Golden Temple'), which was built by the Inca Pachacutec and at the arrival of the Spaniards became the basis for the construction of the Santo Domingo Convent. Here, during the Inca Empire reverence was surrendered to the sun ("Inti"), and there was a time when it was covered with gold. Then visit the Cathedral, the most imposing monument in the Plaza de Armas. Its construction began in 1560 and ended only in 1654. For this purpose hundreds of stones were extracted and transported from Sacsayhuaman fortress under the command of the Ecclesiastical Council. You will continue your tour to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, one of the most emblematic buildings of the Incas (located just minutes from town center) built by the Inca Pachacutec in the fifteenth century. This is a huge fortress built with large stones whose transportation remains still a mystery. Each June 24th, during the winter solstice, the feast of IntiRaymi is recreated here, where the sun is worshipped. Continue to Quenqo, located 4 kilometers from the city of Cusco. Quenqo is an archaeological complex of mainly religious use where it is believed agricultural rituals were performed. Finally get to know PukaPucara, located 7 kilometers from the city of Cusco. PukaPucara, which means "Red Fortress", was an architectural complex of alleged military use with multiple spaces, plazas, baths, aqueducts, walls and towers, and it is believed the entourage of the Inca used it while he rested in Tambomachay. After breakfast A tourist bus takes you from Cusco to Puno making stops in various places. First you will visit the districts of Andahuaylillas with its beautiful baroque church. Then go to Raqchi for a visit to the temple of Wiracocha. Andean buffet at a local restaurant. The next stop is at La Raya, the highest point on route (4,338 m.a.s.l.), and the last visit before reaching Puno, is Pukara where you will discover the Lithic Museum. The bus leaves daily. A transportation service with a guide will wait for your arrival at the bus terminal and will transfer you to your hotel. After breakfast Overland journey from Puno to Copacabana, located at the shores of Lake Titicaca. Once in Copacabana, visit the shrine and the Dark Indian Virgin.
