Arrival into Kigali International Airport meet your guide and transfer to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, meet with your guide who will then transfer you to Akagera Game Park arriving for an early check-in. Lunch at the lodge. Later depart on a game drive where you will enjoy the beautiful scenery and landscape through the northern circuit where you will see hippos and crocodiles in abundance. Proceed to the Southern Sector where you will have a chance to view many species of animals, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and also many other mammal species. Known as one of the most scenic savannahs in East Africa, the game drive in Akagera provides you with the opportunity to also view gentle hills blending beautifully with lowland swamps and water bodies. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

07:00 Breakfast at the lodge. This morning depart on another game drive, this time to different tracks and section. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and landscape through the Central and Southern circuit where you will have a chance to view many animals, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and variety of bird species. Return to your lodge for lunch. In the evening, depart on boat cruise along Lake Ihema to see hippo pods and crocodiles plus a variety of water birds.

07:30 Breakfast at the lodge. Check out, meet your guide and proceed with short game drive, we will continue on the journey to Musanze Volcanoes Via Kigali, Arrival in time for lunch as you enjoy scenic views with drive along the hilly terraced land scape. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure as you prepare for tomorrows gorilla trek. Dinner at the lodge.

Early breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast you will take a short drive to the Park headquarters for an 07:00 arrival where you will be briefed on your trek. Today you will have an amazing opportunity to trek into the Virunga Mountains for an experience of a lifetime with a gorilla family. Pass through light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains in search of a gorilla family. A porter will accompany your group and will carry items such as backpacks, water, and camera gear. Walking sticks are available for your use. Waterproof ankle shoes are recommended as are good athletic shoes. Once you find a gorilla family you will have an hour to safely interact with them and your guide will detail the protocols in respect of photography, movement around the gorillas and enjoying their presence without disturbing their routines. Following your time with the gorillas, you will make your way back to the park entrance where your private guide and driver will meet you and transfer you back to your lodge for the balance of the day and evening at leisure. In the evening, you will transfer to visit the nearby Dian Fossey Museum in Kinigi. The Museum features exhibits, interactive displays, a 360-degree theatre, and nature trails that educate visitors about the life and work of American primatologist Dian Fossey, as well as the ongoing efforts to conserve mountain gorillas and their habitat. After the tour, you will transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Dinner at the lodge.

NB: Gorilla permits and Accommodation are subject to availability at the time of booking and therefore require booking and payment in advance.
Light Aircraft Flights:
-Baggage allowance is normally restricted between 15kg to 30 kg (depending on country, aviation supplier and seat class chosen) per passenger, inclusive of hand luggage in soft bags. Excess baggage will be charged at prevailing rates and only carried subject to space availability.
-Timings in remote areas such as national parks may vary from day to day. It is very important that clients ask their tour guide or lodge manager to reconfirm flights 24 hours before departure. This reconfirmation process will give the departure and arrival details for the flight(s) the following day and will save unnecessary waiting time and discomfort. Charter companies reserves the right to change departure times or carrier when so required for operational, weather or safety reasons.
-Passenger weights limits apply for light aircraft flights and additional seats may be required if exceeding the weight limit. However, please let us know in advance if this is likely to apply so we can do whatever is possible to minimize the likelihood of this becoming an issue.
