Detailed Itinerary

Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we make a walking tour through the historic centre of the city. Our walk takes us from the Plaza de Mayo to San Telmo Neighbourhood, During the walk, we sit in a ‘remarkable’ bar to enjoy a tradition of people from Buenos Aires: coffee. In the meantime, we talk about some of the passions that we will understand better in the following days.

Meal: No Meal

Today we live the city through one of the passions that divides ‘porteños’: football. We drive to the neighbourhood of La Boca, where Boca Juniors Club has its stadium. While we walk its streets, we observe its colourful buildings and we discover that the neighbourhood turns around yellow and blue, the colours of Boca Juniors. We visit the Museum of the stadium. We have lunch at El Cuartito, famous pizzeria for its Fuga zetta (it is a pizza full of onions and mozzarella on a thick crust) and its walls decorated with photographs, flags and football team shirts. We taste pizza, part of the football ceremony.

Meal: Breakfast and Lunch

We get to know some details of the life of a figure who aroused mixed feelings, throughout history: Evita, who was Argentina’s First Lady and became a popular celebrity and icon to Argentinians, as well as a source of great controversy. The tour takes us to places that tell us about her life, since the moment she arrived at the city, passing by those places that had historic relevance in the development of her legacy, to her final resting in Recoleta’s cemetery. Lastly, we visit the Evita Museum to, after having a drink in a bar related to her history, return to the hotel. In the evening, dinner at a restaurant related to the life of Eva Perón.

Meal: Breakfast and Dinner

If we talk about Tango, we’d better know about the history of Carlos Gardel, the greatest tango singer of all times. The tour covers important neighbourhoods: San Nicolas, passing by some places where he was raised; Café Tortoni and Café los Angelitos, both remarkable bars that he frequented and El Ateneo Grand Esplendid, one of the most beautiful libraries according to foreign reviews, where used to function a theatre in which Gardel performed at some concerts. We visit Abasto, area that gave him the nickname of ‘Morocho del Abasto’ (Brunette from Abasto). Through a walking tour, we visit the house where he lived, today turned into a museum, Zelaya Passage with the singer's murals, Paseo Gardel with his monument and the corner ‘Chanta Cuatro’ where a ‘tanguería’ (where tango shows take place) called ‘Esquina de Carlos Gardel’ (Carlos Gardel’s Corner) was located. On the way back, we have lunch at Tortoni Café. In the evening, we take a tango lesson and attend a dinner show, to continue discovering the magnetism of tango.
