Germany’s most multifaceted city was once the residence of the Hohenzollern, the capital of the German Empire and of the German Democratic Republic (DDR), the Weimar Republic and the capital of the Third Reich. Following the end of the dictatorship of terror, the old Nazi centre of power was occupied by the Allied Forces and divided into 4 zones.
