Things to know before visit Hong Kong
Hong Kong has sub tropical climate with four distinct seasons- hot and humid summers and dry and cool winters dominate the season chart. Summers are from May to September with thunderstorms and an average temperature of 28 C. Winters last from November to February with an average temperature of 17 C.
A maritime motorway, Victoria Harbour, is one of the most visited tourist destination in Hong Kong. Located between the towering skyscrapers of Hong Kong and the mountains of Kowloon, the harbour gives the best postcard perfect view of Hong Kong. In the 19th century its deep waters were used by the Britishers to make a colony and that is infact how the modern day Hong Kong has developed. Today, there are many ferries that take visitors all across the island from the harbour. There are many restaurants at the harbour from where you can get a fantastic view of the Hong Kong Skyline. A meal at a restaurant facing the harbour is highly recommended.
A day full of adventure and fun is promised at Disneyland with your favourite cartoon characters. Kids and adults both can indulge in the fantasy land of cartoons fairies and go on adventure rides. Some of the must-do and experience ones include; Start Expo, Iron Man, Star Wars, Royal Princess Garden, Mickey and the Wondrous Book and Disney Explorers Lodge.
A great place to visit for the shopaholics! Tsim Sha Tsui is the entertainment and shopping hub of Hong Kong. It is the central attraction of the region where restaurants, boutiques and cafes crowd the whole area. Nathan Road is the main artery of the market where there are scores of good dining places, boutiques and more. Canton Road is where all the high end luxury brands can be found. A visit to the Tsim Sha Tsui Cultural Complex is a must. It is home to the Hong Kong Space Museum , Hong Kong Kong Museum of Art, and the former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower, a major landmark in Hong Kong.
A great place to hang out for kids and adults alike, Ocean Park is a day full of entertainment and fun with rides, varied animals and a huge aquarium. It boasts of the largest aquarium dome found in the world with a diameter of 5.5 meters. It has over 400 species of fish and a Reef Tunnel. Kids can have the time of their lives on the thrill rides and if you want to see the habitat of Polar bears you can go in for a Giant Panda Adventure. There are some special programmes showcasing the life on the North and South Poles as well. Other attractions at the Ocean Park include; Shark Mystique, Adventures in Australia, Rainforest and Amazing Asian Animals.
To get the best view of Hong Kong you have to ride up to the Peak. The skyline from the peak is a sight not to be missed. Take a tram to the top of the peak from where you can see skyscrapers, islands and the bustling city in all its splendor. Spend time walking around the peak and relish the greenery contrasted with the urban development of the center below. A good time to go is in the evening to see the sparkling skyscrapers and the Victoria harbour melting into an orange hue.
